MARQUETTE -- Looking for ways to save money for your family?

Unplugging your coffee pot and toaster every morning are just a few tips Marissa Palomaki shared at the Marquette General Women's and Children's Center Tuesday.

The "stretching your family dollars" class is part of a series of free parenting classes at MGH throughout the month of March.

"I think the biggest thing anyone can learn is to prepare in advance.  If you know you're going to spend a lot of money on something, what is the best deal and which store to get your item from," said Marissa Palomaki, instructor.

Positive discipline and family and friends CPR are a few other classes being offered in March.
