Commission members began ranking the importance of major expenditures for next year.
MARQUETTE -- Plans for next year's Marquette city budget are already in the works. Some of the projects that were debated included the re-roofing of a fire station for $75,000.
Commission members began ranking the importance of major expenditures for next year. Among them were a city-wide sidewalk replacement costing $100,000 and street improvement and maintenance project with a price tag of $975,000.
The meeting was an information gathering session to identify the city's needs.
"It is primarily up to the City Manager, myself, to present to the commission what our priorities are for expenditures for next year, based on input from them, input from the staff about what we need most," said Mike Angeli, Marquette City Manager.
A list of priorities will be set April 19-28.
The final budget will be accepted May 10.
