According to the Marquette City Police, Joseph Paul Perry, Jr., age 25, was taken into custody last Friday.

MARQUETTE -- A Marquette man is jailed in connection to passing fake money last year.

According to the Marquette City Police, Joseph Paul Perry, Jr., age 25, was taken into custody last Friday.

A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Marquette County Prosecutor's office for uttering and publishing a counterfeit bill.

Perry allegedly passed a fake $50 bill to a Marquette retailer in October of last year.

Uttering and publishing of counterfeit money is a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and fines.

Other incidents of fake money being used last year in the Marquette area is currently under investigation on a federal level.
