MARQUETTE -- The residential market for Marquette County looks promising this year.
Thursday afternoon, Closser Associates held their annual residential market analysis at the Marquette Holiday Inn.
President Bruce Closser spoke to local members of the Upper Peninsula Association of Realtors and assured them that the market is showing signs of improvement.
"Things are not too bad. I would say, certainly the housing market has slowed, but we're better off than most parts of the country and some indications that things may improve next year," said Closser.
Although our local market has seen better days, Closser says that a 6.5 percent drop is not bad compared to what many parts of the country have suffered. He expects with a rise in employment rates, a rise in the housing market will shortly follow.
