Jaws of Life used in Esky crash

The accident happened Wednesday, shortly after 11 a.m. on US-41 by Barrow Motors.

UPDATE: 5:04 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010

A two car accident along US-41 outside Escanaba Wednesday morning sent one person to the hospital.

Officials say shortly after 11:00, both vehicles were heading westbound, when a car went to make a u-turn and was t-boned by an SUV.

Rescue personnel had to use the jaws of life to remove the driver of the vehicle from the car.

The driver was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The accident slowed up traffic on the highway for about 40 minutes.

UPDATE: 11:51 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Details are still coming out about a two car accident in Escanaba.

It happened Wednesday, shortly after 11 a.m. on US-41 by Bero Motors.

Witnesses say at least one person was extricated using the Jaws of Life.

Extent of injuries and cause has not been determined
