MARQUETTE TWP. -- The Ski Cats Club puts the fun in fundamentals for kids learning how to ski.

Kids between the ages of five and ten can participate.

There are about 60 kids in the class this year.

The groups are based on skill level, not on age, and the kids are able to move up as their skill level improves.

Coordinator Carrie Pearson says, "It's just a way of getting children out in the snow, and having fun on skis without even really realizing that they're learning how to ski.  The program is all about fun and games, so you'll see a lot of balls and cones and flags and things that you don't normally see out on a ski trail."

The club has been around for about ten years, and is sponsored by the Superiorland Ski Club.

All of the coaches are volunteers.
