MARQUETTE TWP. -- The M.G.H. Noquemanon race is next weekend. Racers as well as organizers are preparing for the 12th annual event.
So far, there are more than 900 racers signed up, which is about 100 more than last year at this time.
"Compared to years past, we haven't offered this many races--we have the larger marathon, we have the half marathon, we have a 15-mile snowshoe, we also have a 10-kilometer snowshoe, and then we also have brand new this year that 12-kilometer Noque, which is what we're trying to encourage Marquette residents to get out here and be a part of the excitement and just take a quick ski down to the Dome," said Noquemanon Trail Network Operations Coordinator Nikki Dewald.
Jennifer Baldwin of Marquette said, "I just wanted a little bit of extra challenge; it sounds like the part above the 510, that early part of the race is the most beautiful, the most challenging, so I just wanted to give it a try."
You can still sign-up for the race.
