Here's a look at what we're working on for tonight's news.

Two state departments are coming together again, after being separated for 15 years.  The Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Environmental Quality merged into the new Department of Natural Resources and Environment today.  Tonight on your TV6 Late News, TV6 reporter Jeni Jewell talks to officials from both agencies.

Mining and minerals are both large parts of the UP's culture.  There is also a lot of history behind mining that many people may not know about.  Learn more about the Rock and Mineral Program tonight on your TV6 Late News.

The Heikki Lunta festival in Negaunee wraps up today.  Activities for all ages were held in celebration of the Finnish snow god.  We'll have more tonight on your TV6 Late News.
