LANSING (AP) -- The state of Michigan and Microsoft Corp. are teaming up to offer free technology training around the state.

The deal calls for Microsoft to provide displaced workers with free technology training through the Microsoft Elevate America program. State workforce development officials will decide which training benefits to offer.
Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington state already are participating in the program, which gives people vouchers to pay for classes and additional help.
