Everyone at the orphanage is fine, but they had to sleep outside after the quake.

MARQUETTE -- Millions are left without a home in Haiti Wednesday after a major earthquake, and 20 miles outside of the capitol sits an orphanage with ties to the U.P.

Christy Beck spent a month this summer helping at the orphanage.

There are 170 kids who rely on God's Littlest Angels between the ages of one to fifteen.

Christy has been in contact with the orphanage through their website and Facebook.  Everyone is OK, but they did end up sleeping outside Wednesday night.

Officials with the orphanage expect to see a lot more orphans in the coming days.

"It's just unbelievable to me and it was very hard to hear the news when I saw it, and it's even hard hearing it now because I want to be able to do something," said Beck.   "I want to be able to fix it right now.  All I can do is just wait."

If you would like to read about the orphanage or would like to donate to their cause, visit their website.
