According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Department, the victim is 86-year-old Rose Faultey.
MARQUETTE COUNTY -- Names of the people involved in a fatal car crash on M-553 in Sands Township Saturday have been released.
According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Department, the victim is 85-year-old Rose Faultey. According to a family member, she was from Royal Oak, Michigan.
She was a passenger in a mini van, driven by 64-year-old Daniel Dickinson, also of Royal Oak.
Dickinson had veered into the left lane to avoid slowing vehicles in front of them. He slid into the path of an oncoming car, driven by 55-year-old Terry Ayotte of Gwinn.
Faultey was ejected from the vehicle. She was later pronounced dead at Marquette General. Ayotte was treated and released for minor injuries.
While the accident remains under investigation, the Marquette County Sheriff's Department said that the road was snow covered and icy, with periods of whiteouts, and that charges are not being sought at this time.
