Annual Christmas dinner for community members

MARQUETTE -- In Marquette, the Salvation Army collaborated with the Superiorland Kiwanis to host their annual Christmas dinner.  Diners enjoyed turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, and of course, pumpkin pie.

The Superiorland Kiwanis Club has been hosting the dinner for almost fifteen years, but this year they decided it would be better for the community to team up with the Salvation Army for the event.

"Because there is a definite need in the community, we had talked with the Salvation Army and their meals are up.  We've been doing this Christmas dinner for quite a few years and figured this was better for the community," explained Kiwanis member Fred Anderson.

The dinner was expected to be served to more than 300 area residents.
