It's called the Ring of Generosity.
MARQUETTE TWP -- Monday, we began the third year of our friendly bell ringing competition at WLUC for the Salvation Army. It's called the Ring of Generosity.
It started Monday afternoon with Karl Bohnak outside the Marquette Walmart. He braved the snow to get people to donate and help the less fortunate in our area.
After two hours, it was the changing of the guard and Mike Ludlum stepped in to ring. He brought his secret weapon, his baritone, and played some Christmas tunes.
And while some came to talk local weather and sports, others came to support those in need.
"I'm giving because the Salvation Army has helped a lot of people in this community," said Phil Milkie of Marquette. "They're one of the better agencies to help the needy, and times are tough for a lot of people."
The ring of generosity continues Tuesday with Elizabeth Peterson. She'll be at the Marquette Walmart from noon until 2 p.m.
You'll see who brought in the most donations at the end of the week.
