To plead no contest
MARINETTE, WI -- A Marinette man accused of driving drunk in a crash that killed five family members has changed his plea from not guilty to no contest.
Richard Powell was scheduled for trial next week, but instead reached a plea deal with Marinette County prosecutors.
Powell faces five counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Forty-four-year-old Joel Rivas and four of his children were killed January 18 in the town of Peshtigo.
Powell will be sentenced February 8.
