Donation made to Eastwood Nursing Home's charity collection.
NEGAUNEE -- A check for $31. It's what Linda Fetterhoff delivered to employees at the Eastwood Nursing Home in Negaunee, a Pay-It-Forward gift from her friend, Penny Karhi.
Penny unfortunately was too sick to make the trip herself.
"Penny wanted me to give you one dollar a day for every day of the month, for the month of December," said Fetterhoff.
The money will go toward the "Casual for a Cause" campaign, which allows employees to pay money to dress down on Wednesdays.
All the money collected goes to local charities.
"December, now we do the Christmas families. We've also donated to the Backpack project, Beacon House, a lot of different things, so it's been a worthwhile cause," said bookkeeper, Karen Dishaw.
Employees at Eastwood started "Casual for a Cause" in 2005. They donate to a different charity each month and have donated $7,000 so far to local charities.
The money this month is going to go to make someone's Christmas a little happier.
A dollar a day--it's just another way the Pay It Forward chain is blessing others with an act of kindness.
