MARQUETTE -- Teaching inquisitive minds through interaction--it's what the U.P. Children's Museum does every day.

Volunteers are asking for the public's support at the 6th Annual "Celebrity Art Auction."

Thursday night, starting at 5:30 p.m., people can browse through the 30 items up for bid.  They were created by creative, community members.

The range of items are expected to draw $100 to $1,000 a piece.

"It just shows how really creative our community is when it comes to giving," said volunteer Stephanie Jones.  "People step outside of their comfort zones and try new things, and their efforts are extraordinary."

Admission for the auction is free, and there will be free drinks and food as well.

Live bidding starts at 7 p.m.
