MARQUETTE -- Sharing a little means a lot, especially with those that are overseas.

The Great Lakes Recovery Center began the Great Giving initiative this year, collecting and sending care packages to our troops this holiday season.

Organizers say they have about 60 names of soldiers from the U.P., and priority will be given to any extra U.P. troops.

Right now, there are enough supplies for about 100 boxes.

"We are still in need of monetary donations to help cover the cost of postage," said GLRC Marketing Coordinator Michelle DeMitchell.  "It costs $11.95 to send each box, and so we only have enough to cover maybe 20 boxes right now, so we need community people or businesses to please donate money."

Anyone wishing to make a donation can visit M-bank in Marquette or the GLRC office on Rublein Street.
