MARQUETTE -- Marquette orchestra students have something to be thankful this Thanksgiving.

More than 200 people braved the sleet and wind Thursday morning to run in their annual turkey trot fund-raiser at Marquette Senior High.

Trophies were given to the first male and female to cross the finish line in both the 5K and 10K races.

Co-coordinator Janis Peterson said, "This is the coolest thing because a lot of alumni come back now, so especially for me I get to see a lot of people that I don't normally see.  They get to see one another, and every year it seems to get bigger and bigger no matter what the weather."

Peterson also said she's not sure when the trot tradition started, but she's been working with the fund-raiser for about ten years.
