Sawyer International Airport will be busy according to management.
SAWYER -- Fewer people are expected to fly this Thanksgiving holiday, and those who do, will pay more.
Air travel is expected to decline 6.7 percent to 2.3 million travelers this year, compared to 2.5 million who flew last year.
That's according to AAA, who says Thanksgiving flights have declined for the past decade. But that won't be the case in Marquette County.
"I anticipate that Sawyer will be busy, like always," said Airport Manager Keith Kaspari. "Now we did lose our Minneapolis service this past summer, so we believe there will be even more competition for the seats we do have."
Car travel is expected to be up this year, by 1.4 percent.
