MARQUETTE -- With some warm temperatures Saturday, it may not feel like November, but people in Marquette were preparing for some winter fun.

It was the annual Ski and Snowboard Swap fund-raiser at Marquette Mountain.  People could pick up used and new skis, boards, boots, helmets, poles and much more.

Some of the proceeds from the swap support the Marquette Mountain Racing Team (MMRT), a nonprofit organization that gets kids involved in alpine skiing.

“It consists of an average 120 to 150 kids a season,” said MMRT Board President Jill Churchill.  "It is our main fund-raiser.  It's how we pay our coaches, buy equipment, things like that.”
