Pesky insect spotted in Alger County

The emerald ash borer has been found in Munising.

MUNISING -- The tree-killing emerald ash borer has been detected in Alger County.

According the Michigan Department of Agriculture, an adult insect was confirmed on a trap in Munising.

The exotic beetle has devastated tens of millions of ash trees in several states.

It has also been found in Mackinac, Chippewa, Schoolcraft, Delta, and Houghton Counties.
