MARQUETTE -- McClellan Avenue has finally been restored to its original lane configuration.

Marquette City officials told TV6 they made a mistake when McClellan was painted with two bike lanes and turning lane two weeks ago.

It cost the city $6,000 to remove the stripes, which crews were hard at work doing Saturday afternoon.

The city's master plan includes a three-lane road for McClellan Avenue, but not until 2010 or 2011.
