SAWYER -- No one was injured in an afternoon house fire in Sawyer Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the duplex at 107 Tarzon at around 4:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews saw flames shooting out of the windows.  It only took five minutes to douse the blaze.  Officials say the stove was left on, causing serious damage to the kitchen.  The only ones inside at the time of the fire were three pets that had to be rescued.

A dog was taken to the vet for smoke inhalation.
