Learning to be a triathlete

MARQUETTE -- Are you interested in trying a triathlon or just looking to get in better shape this summer?

The YMCA of Marquette County is offering an eight-week triathlon training program starting Sunday, May 3.

Participants will learn the proper ways to run, bike, and swim from professional trainers and triathletes.

"They're going to learn how to run a triathlon.  I mean, really, at the end of the eight weeks, they should be able to do a triathlon, know what to bring, how to transition, how to train," said Jenna Zdunek of the YMCA.

The class costs $79 for members and $99 for non-members and will be held on Sundays at 5:30 p.m.

The training class is a lead in to the Y's Teal Lake Triathlon in July.
