Journey to Wellness
MARQUETTE -- It's a disease that affects more than 2.5 million people worldwide, and this weekend in Marquette, people with multiple sclerosis came together to discuss new therapies.
This year's conference theme was "Journey to Wellness" and promoted finding other ways to cope with the disease besides medication. Sessions were held to demonstrate acupuncture, massages, and stress management techniques.
For participants, it's a great way to stay up to date on the latest information.
"It's wonderful to have it right here in the Upper Peninsula where we don't have to travel too far to get the information, plus connect with other people who have MS and talk about symptoms and things that we're doing that work," said Nancy Beukema of the MS Service Council.
The conference is held twice a year with the next one set for October.
