It's National Car Care Month.
IRON MOUNTAIN -- Spring may not be making a complete appearance yet, but April is the month to turn your thoughts to your vehicle.
It's National Car Care Month and after a long, cold winter, you may want to bring your ride in to get checked out.
Salt and sand take their toll on tires and vehicle bodies, and the roads may have done more damage to your suspension system than you would've imagined.
"If the tie rod ends are loose when we put it up in the air to check it over, that's one of the first things," said mechanic Karl Romanowicz. "Shake the wheels, make sure nothing's loose--tie rods, ball joints, that kind of thing. If they're loose, you can actually lose a tire."
Experts recommend bringing your car in this month to have the fluid levels checked, as well as the tires and what lies under the hood.
