Marquette's Pat Black was awarded Tourism Director of the Year for the state of Michigan.
MARQUETTE -- The U.P. is known for being a great destination for all four seasons. A lot of this recognition comes from our tourism offices.
Earlier this week, a Marquette tourism director was awarded for her hard work.
Pat Black, the Executive Director of the Marquette Country Convention and Visitor's Bureau, was awarded the Director of the Year for the entire of state of Michigan.
Nominated by fellow staff members, Black stood out for her work with the U.P. 200 and the Marquette Downtown Development Authority.
"There was a lot of satisfaction for me. I've worked 30 years in the industry, but the fact that I was entered into this contest by my staff and board that I work for--boy, that sent a big message to me," said Black
Black is also excited to have such a wonderful area to market to visitors.
