Slow food idea spreads fast.
It's called slow food, and as you can probably guess, it's the opposite of fast food.
Those who practice the slow food idea, which is a way of living and a way of eating, believe that food should be good, clean, accessible to all and produced by people who make a fair wage.
The global grassroots movement has thousand of members worldwide and it's a the goal of Joe Sabol to start a slow food chapter in Marquette.
On Sunday, Sable hosted a meeting at Peter White Public Library to see if there is interest.
Just the simple fact of eating food, sharing it and cooking it with friends and family is something I think we've lost in our culture," says Sable, "and we want to return to that."
"What it means is to start out with good raw ingredients and end up with something that is absolutely superb," said owner Kim Danielson of Babycakes Muffin Company.
Sable hopes Sunday's meeting will become a regular occurrence.
