Rapid River man shot his neighbor's dog.
RAPID RIVER -- The Rapid River man charged with animal cruelty for shooting his neighbor's dog was found guilty of the charge on Wednesday afternoon in Escanaba.
Fifty-year-old Kenneth Seiler had claimed he shot and killed the dog in self defense because he had been bitten by the dog before. The dog's owners denied that their pet had ever bitten anyone.
The jury deliberated for two hours and found Seiler guilty.
He could face up to four years in prison. Sentencing will be scheduled within the next six weeks.
