ESCANABA -- These tough economic times and the long winter have been keeping the Community Action Agency in Delta County busy.

The agency helps provide financial assistance to area families struggling to pay their bills.

So far, they've helped cover heating costs for over 250 families across Delta County, and funds are going out faster than they're coming in.

This Friday, they're hoping to kick off their annual Walk for Warmth fund-raiser with a brat sale.

All proceeds from both fund-raisers will help struggling families in Delta County.

"We've seen a new brand of folk that typically have not been in for any kind of help, and they're really discouraged by that.  It's just tough economic times we're having right now," commented CAA Executive Assistant Cathy Pearson.

The sale will be in front of Ludington Post Suites in Escanaba, beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.
