Heikki Lunta started off with single digit temperatures.
NEGAUNEE -- Saturday's weather, did make for perfect conditions for the start of the 14th annual Heikki Lunta Winterfest in Negaunee.
The Teal Lake Fishing Derby kicked off the weekend festivities.
Cash prizes were available to the best catches in different divisions.
And even though not everyone was reeling in fish, they still found ways to have fun on the frozen lake.
"We decided that we were going to set up a shuffleboard court out on the ice for Heikki Lunta," says Doni Hernandez of Negaunee. "We figured it would be fun to play and get a little tournament going, and pick for partners and have fun while we were out here fishing."
The fun isn't over yet. Sunday activities include, a blooper ball tournament and a geocaching event.
