MARQUETTE -- He's known to many as the undisputed master of Upper Michgan history and storytelling.  Wednesday afternoon, Fred Ryhdolm was honored for all he's done for the area.  A plaque was placed on the A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence at Marquette Senior High School.

Born and raised in Marquette, Rydholm is a former teacher, city commissioner, and three-term mayor.

Since its creation in 2004, the Wall of Excellence has inducted a different Marquette alumni each year who's distinguished themselves in the community.  And Rydholm says he feels privileged to be on the list.

"To be honored by your friends and family that knew you the best and the longest is very humbling," said Rydholm of his induction.

Mr. Rydholm graduated from Graveraet High School in 1941.
