One person suffers burn injuries.

ELY TOWNSHIP -- Updated; 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, December 30,2008

Further details have been released about a fire which destroyed a southern Marquette County home.

According to the Ishpeming Township Fire Department, the fire broke out around 3 p.m.  Monday afternoon, at a home off County Road 581, just past the Helen Lake Road turn-off.

The home is owned by Michael Konster.  He was working on the wood stove, and when he re-lit it, the blaze got out of control.

Konster was injured in the fire.  He was treated and released from Bell Hospital.

A fast-moving fire Monday afternoon destroyed a home in Ely Township in southern Marquette County.

The fire broke out at about 3 p.m. off of County Road 581, just past the Helen Lake Road turn-off.

Ishpeming Township firefighters got the call.  They asked for help from the Richmond Township Department.

At least one person, not a firefighter, suffered burns in the fire and was taken to Bell Hospital.
