New hearing aids for 101-year-old woman.
MARQUETTE -- A special woman received a special birthday gift Monday.
Alice Thompson of Little Lake celebrated her 101st birthday on December 17. To honor her, Audiology Associates of Marquette set her up with two top-of-the-line, custom fit, digital hearing aids.
It's the kind of present Ms. Thompson can appreciate.
"Oh it's much easier to take care of and easier to hear. I lived without hearing for a while and I have to try to hear what people are trying to tell me," said Ms. Thompson.
Even at 101 years old, Alice is alert, spry, fun, and socially active.
The audiologists are hoping with her new digital hearing aids, she'll hear the Christmas bells on Christmas morning.
