MARQUETTE -- Here's news sure to cheer motorists for their holiday travels.  Gas prices in the state continue to go down.

According to AAA of Michigan, the lowest prices for self-serve regular are in the Saginaw and Bay City area at $1.55 per gallon.

Marquette stations are still the highest of the reporting stations at $1.77.

Still, this is $.38 lower than a month ago, and $1.30 down from last year at this time.

This reflects the national trend of lower prices at the pump.

As of Friday, the national average was $1.66.
