Tubing, skiing, and other fun

ISHPEMING -- Friday’s snow may have been a pain for some people, but it was much appreciated by others.

For the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming, it makes opening day much easier.  The tube slide and ski hill will open Saturday at noon.

Skiing and tubing will also be available during the Christmas vacation time.  And with a low cost, it's the perfect activity for families.

"Seven dollars a ticket a day--that's tubing and skiing," said Al Quaal employee, Carl Petersen.

The rest of the park, including an ice rink and four cross country ski trails, will open soon, weather permitting.
