North Star Academy looking to implement charter grade school.
North Star Academy is getting closer to opening a K-5 Elementary school.
According to school administrator, Karen Anderson, they're optimistic they'll be able to take enrollment applications in January to gauge the demand for the elementary school.
North Star Academy is a charter school through Northern Michigan University.
Once the Academy sees what kind of interest there is for a K-5 school, they'll then ask NMU for a change in their charter status.
