Snowmobile accident hospitalizes rider

The early morning accident happened in Houghton County's Adams Township.

HOUGHTON COUNTY -- An Illinois man is recovering Wednesday morning after an early morning snowmobile accident in Houghton County.

According to the Houghton County Sheriff's Department, it happened around 3:30 this morning on Trail #120 in Adams Township.

The 29-year-old snowmobiler failed to negotiate a curve and hit several trees.

He was taken to Portage Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say that alcohol is not a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
