Iron Mountain church says 'Merry Christmas' is just fine.

IRON MOUNTAIN -- Wishing people a "Merry Christmas" is common this time of year, but some say it shows disrespect for those who aren't Christian.

The First Covenant Church of Iron Mountain disagrees and is doing its best to bring the greeting back for good.  It's joined a nationwide "Wish me a Merry Christmas" campaign, handing out buttons that say just that.

"We find it interesting that people who do see the buttons, many of them say, 'I like your button'," says Pastor Pete Erickson.  "And it seems like there's a sense of a change.  People appreciate that, in a sense; they have permission to say Merry Christmas."

At this point, the church is one of only two in Michigan that are part of the campaign, but they're hoping it will spread.
