Sunday's hazardous weather conditions are the blame for numerous car accidents.
BARAGA COUNTY -- Rain and snow pounded Upper Michigan Sunday, causing some dangerous driving conditions.
The weather is being blamed for one car sliding into a guardrail on U.S. 41 in Baraga County.
In Houghton, near whiteout conditions made it hard to see across the canal at the hills in Hancock. It was also a challenge for vehicles to travel up the hills of Houghton and Hancock because of the slush.
"Cars are sliding all over," says Michigan Tech student Erik Reinertsen. "I saw two or three cars try and make it up the hill, and they just couldn't make it. They had to turn around and come back down."
"It's kind of bad when it starts snowing, and I avoid the hills at all cost," comments Michigan Tech student Angela King, "but I have 4-wheel drive, so I use it all the time."
Sunday's weather will most likely make it an icy and dangerous drive for Monday's morning commute.
