MARQUETTE -- The holiday shopping season is now officially upon us, after Black Friday.  One local business is hopeful that their unique products will continue to bring in the customers.

Doncker's Candies and Gifts in Marquette had quite a bit of foot traffic Saturday afternoon as people came by to purchase quality chocolate or just browse.

And though the economy has been on their minds, store officials are optimistic after Friday's sales.

"We weren't open at five in the morning, but we opened at 10 in the morning.  From 10 to 8 o'clock at night it was very busy all day yesterday, and we expect it to stay busy through the holidays.  We sell a good product for Christmas gifts and we also have a very nice lunch counter," said owner Tom Vear.

Vear also said that he believes sales will continue to be good due to the high quality of the products they sell.
