Others will be left with little to no accumulation.
UPPER PENINSULA -- Through Friday, residents in some areas of the U.P. can expect to see plenty more of lake effect snow...something we have been seeing a lot of lately.
"I wouldn't rule out two feet of fresh snow in the highlands of eastern Marquette county through Alger county by the time things wind down," says TV6 Meteorologist Nick Kanczuzewski.
While a widespread three to six inches of additional snow is expected across the snowbelts of the north, the heaviest snow will fall the in the north-central portion of Upper Michigan. Anywhere from 6-12 inches of additional snow is likely in Marquette and Alger counties through late Friday, with the most in the higher elevations. If that isn't impressive enough, these are the same areas that picked up the most snow with the last storm that came through earlier this week.
Parts of the southern U.P. near the Lake Michigan shoreline will see little to no accumulation, with the exception of a few areas like Delta county where several inches will accumulate.
Blowing snow and icy roads have been causing accidents throughout our viewing area. Officials warn to slow down and use caution.
