Appeals Court doesn't buy the story of Gregory Bricker.
DELTA COUNTY -- Michigan's Appeals Court has denied the appeal of Gregory Paul Bricker.
Bricker was convicted of second degree home invasion in Delta County and sentenced, as an habitual offender, to 5-30 years in prison.
He appealed his conviction, claiming that he was actually in the home to ask the owner about a lawn care job, not to commit a larceny.
The court didn't buy it because the homeowner had left the door unlocked, and when police were called in to check for a suspicious person, they found the door locked. That suggested to them that Bricker had gone inside, then locked the door.
Bricker will now have to serve out his sentence.
