Parts of the Upper Peninsula are experiencing white outs.
NEGAUNEE TWP. -- It can go from a peaceful snowfall to zero visibility in a matter of minutes.
Lake effect snows have been blowing across the U.P. since Saturday and can be expected to drop up to a foot of accumulation.
The warm waters of Lake Superior, combined with north to northwest winds, have been known to make a mess.
"Expect the bands of snow to shift around throughout the next 36 hours, dispersing anywhere from an inch to as much as a foot of snow throughout the north," says TV6 Meteorologist Nick Kanczuzewski.
Meanwhile, the south can expect nothing more than a few flurries and little to no accumulation.
The snows are expected to keep up through Tuesday, just in time to pick up again on Thursday.
