MANISTIQUE -- The Manistique man facing assault charges was found not guilty on Thursday.

After nearly an hour of deliberation, the jury found 23-year-old James Snyder not guilty of assault with a deadly weapon.

Back in June, Snyder and his brother, Christopher Snyder, were arrested after police received a report that a 16-year-old girl had been threatened with a gun.

Later, the father of the girl said he was also threatened.

Snyder's brother, Christopher, ended his trial by pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

His sentencing is on December 4.
