Recommendation for what roads should be open for snowmobilers

IRONWOOD -- Driving your snowmobile around Ironwood might be easier this winter.

Tuesday, a subcommittee of the Ironwood Planning Commission received input from law enforcement agencies and local businesses as to which city streets could be opened to snowmobilers.

They decided all the roads should be open except for U.S. 2, Ayer Street, and Aurora Street as well as portions of Lowell Street, Douglas Boulevard, Curry Street and Alfred Wright Boulevard.

The rest of the planning commission will vote whether to send this recommendation to the city council on Wednesday, December 3.
