She says the auto industry needs a federal loan.
LANSING -- Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm told the Today Show Monday morning that her state's crippled auto industry needs help from the federal government.
"What the auto industry is asking for is just a bridge loan only to get through this period of financial crunch," she told Today's Matt Lauer, "so that what we see across the country is not further exacerbated by the loss of millions of jobs."
Lauer asked her if she was interested in becoming Secretary of Energy in an Obama Administration after she was photographed prominently among his advisors last Friday.
Granholm responded that she could be a good partner here in Michigan and would be honored to be a partner.
