Boy Scout Troop 302 raised flag, played Taps in ceremony
MARQUETTE -- In honor of Veterans Day, flags were raised across the U.P.
In Marquette, a flag-raising ceremony was conducted by Boy Scout Troop 302 of Saint Michaels.
The troops formed a traditional color guard to carry the flags to the flag pole, while a bugler played Taps in the background.
Onlookers stood silent and watched as the flags were raised, which was followed by a prayer to honor those who have served our country.
"It's important for the community and for the youth to kind of show that we appreciated the things that the veterans have done over the years," said the Scoutmaster of Troop 302, Fred Anderson.
