MARQUETTE -- A group got together Saturday to honor those that have served our country.

The Forgotten Eagles, a non-profit organization that supports veterans, held a benefit at Flannigan's Bar in Marquette to raise money for veterans in the U.P. who are struggling financially.

'People fall through the cracks, and once they've served, they shouldn't be forgotten by any stretch of the imagination, so what we try to do as a radio station and Forgotten Eagles as a group is try to help those who have fallen through the cracks," said Don Thoma with Great Lakes Radio.

In conjunction with several local radio stations, The Forgotten Eagles put on a silent auction as well as a 50-50 drawing.  All items in the auction were donated by local businesses, as well as food and entertainment.

All proceeds raised will go to help veterans in the Upper Peninsula.
