Inmate caught after three hours of freedom.
IRON MOUNTAIN -- An escaped inmate is back behind bars after a few hours of freedom Sunday.
Twenty-year-old James Thomas Banks of Iron Mountain escaped from the Dickinson County Correctional Center at about 7:00 a.m. Banks was captured at a home in Niagara, Wisconsin three hours later.
According to officers, Banks removed a metal grate covering a cell window and crawled through.
He was in jail on various drug-related charges and being a habitual offender.
Currently, he's being held in the Marinette County Jail pending an extradition hearing.
Investigation is continuing and further arrests are possible in connection with the escape of Banks.
